Message Guide – Who, Me?, Week 2 | Look Again
A lot of us may believe that God only works through people who are more qualified than we are. But the truth is, God specializes in doing extraordinary things in response to the faith of ordinary people. Unfortunately we are often blinded by fear of our situation because we can’t see a solution?
Key Takeaways
Clearer vision comes from closer connection.
The enemy of our faith wants to keep us that way. However, our spiritual life isn’t just about what we see physically—it’s about what we see by faith. Jesus wants to open our spiritual eyes and bring us closer to God so that we can see all that he has for us. When we stay close to God we will have clearer vision.
Pray
Prayer is our time to talk to God. Let this prayer help to inspire your own conversations with God this week.
Father,
You are a God who loves me so much you made a way for me to be close to you through Jesus. I love you and am so grateful to be able to come into your presence and learn from your word and people.
Forgive me for those times that I forgot you were with me, because I was blinded by fear. I was surrounded, and didn’t know what to do. But with patience you helped me see that you are always working and always with me.
Thank you for sending me people who have helped me to see you clearly. Their prayers have changed my perspective so that now as I look at my circumstances, though they have not changed, I will not be afraid.
Father, I know that the enemy will try to ambush me and lure me further away from you. Prepare me for those attacks by helping me stay connected to you and your word. Please connect me with others who will help me, and who I can help as well.
Amen.

Reflect
Reflect on these questions during your slot and spot/discussions with others.
This week, we are reminded that God often brings us clarity through others who believe in him.
- Can you think of a time a fellow believer brought you clarity or a different perspective to a situation you were struggling with?
- Have you ever had the opportunity to bring clarity to someone else?
Staying close to God helps us prepare for attacks from the enemy. Can you think of a time when you faced a challenge that could have blinded you by fear, but you saw more clearly after looking through the lens of your relationship with Jesus?
Read through 2 Kings 6:8-17. Can you relate to Elisha’s servant when he saw that they were surrounded and asked, “What will we do now?”
- Elisha told his servant “don’t be afraid”, which echoes what he learned from his mentor Elijah.
- Is there a spiritual “best practice” that you have learned by observing someone who’s faith you admire? How have you applied it to your life?
- Elisha prayed that God would allow his servant to see what he saw.
- Has anyone ever prayed a big prayer for you? What was the impact of knowing they were praying for you? In what ways was that prayer answered?
