Baptism

Never the Same

Taking this next step in your relationship with Jesus is a huge step in your faith, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you!

The Bible is pretty clear that once we’ve put our faith in Jesus, our next step is to get baptized. Baptism Weekend is here, if you would like to be baptized this weekend head to one of our locations before a gathering and we will help you take this next step in your journey.

Our next baptism will be December 6, 2026, at all locations. To find out if your child is ready to take their first steps of faith, please visit our Parents Resource page.

Thinking about baptism?

Baptism is an important step in following Jesus, and it’s okay to have questions.

This short video will help bring clarity and give you the confidence to take your next step. We’d love to celebrate this moment with you!

Baptism FAQs

A limited amount of baptisms will be scheduled per time slot per location. You will be contacted with your time slot for your baptism after signing up. If you have any further questions on what baptism will be like, email us at baptism@yourjourney.tv. We’d love to help answer your questions!

Those getting baptized will be baptized by someone from our team or can choose to be baptized by someone who has already been baptized. If someone else is baptizing you, share this PDF with them, giving them all of the information they need to know.

Those who are baptized are following Jesus’ example and obeying his command.

“After his baptism, as Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and settling on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.””—Matthew 3:16–17

“Jesus came and told his disciples, ‘I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’” —Matthew 28:18–20

Water baptism is a public declaration of three very important things:

  • You are a follower of Jesus Christ.
“Those who believed what Peter said were baptized and added to the church that day—about 3,000 in all.” —Acts 2:41
  • You are beginning a changed life in Christ.
“For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.” —Romans 6:4
  • You are part of a new family.
“For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes.” —Galatians 3:26–27
Your baptism should have signified you becoming a follower of Jesus, beginning a changed life, and uniting with a new family. If your baptism did not reflect this change of life, then you should be baptized again.

We believe every child can have a personal relationship with Jesus. While younger children under the age of 5yrs can have a relationship with Jesus, they will not necessarily remember or understand the significance of the event. For this reason, we baptize children as young as Kindergarten, and only if it is their decision. If they are older than 5yrs and are asking to be baptized, this is a great time to have a conversation with them about what it means to follow Jesus fully and determine if they’re ready for that next step. Journey Kids is here to partner with you and equip you as you lead your child spiritually through their first steps of faith. Visit our Parents Resource Page for help on how to know if your child is ready.
