As part of Journey Leadership Institute, the Ministry Bootcamp is a 9 week accelerated program in which we intentionally invest in high school students and young leaders under the age of 30.

 

Through spiritual development and hands-on ministry training from our staff and leaders, we help them explore a calling for their lives.

Ministry Bootcamp FAQ

Who can apply to the Ministry Bootcamp?

We’re looking for passionate, driven students and young adults under the age of 30. Here are some qualifications:

 

A Leader Must:

  • Be a follower of Jesus
  • Have completed 8th grade
  • Be under the age of 30
  • Exhibit natural leadership abilities
  • Be self-motivated and have a high degree of ownership
  • Express a desire to grow in ministry leadership
  • Willing to meet the program requirements
  • Must be in alignment with The Evening Program Handbook
  • Be recommended by a leader/upline at The Journey
What are the expectations of leaders?

• 24 Hours Per Week:

    • (9) Tuesdays and Thursdays – 9:00am-1:30pm
    • (7) Weekends – Serve for all gatherings each weekend
      Monthly Saturdays off are required for leaders serving at Broadcast
    • (6) Practical Ministry (expectations/timing to be determined by mentor)
    • (2) Relevant Meetings (department meeting, all-staff, programming, etc.)
      (Includes one full weekend off and two weekdays missed)

 

• Hold weekly tag-in with mentor to guidance on practical ministry development
• Lead or co-lead a summer J-Group
• Execute all deliverables during practical ministry as directed by a mentor

When do leaders meet?

Our summer program runs from June 13, 2024 through August 18, 2024. Weekly meetings will happen on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00am to 1:30pm. Weekend requirements vary. Additional time is required to be in meetings with their mentor.

What will a day in the life of Ministry Bootcamp look like?

Each day will begin with spiritual development in a slot and spot, beginning with a devotional shared by a leader. Teaching/Q&A components with members of our staff/leadership team will give them knowledge of leadership dynamics. Practical ministry will be hands-on project-based leadership development. Once per week there will be a fun activity for all participants as well.
