Meet our Pastors
Mark and Susie Johnston are the founders and lead pastors of The Journey. Fueled by a passion to reach unchurched people, they began The Journey in 2007, creating an engaging community of faith where people can experience the life-giving message of Jesus. Mark and Susie have been married for 27 years and have two beautiful children, Madeline and Conner.
In addition to his role at The Journey, Mark leads Strategic Church Coaching, an organization that coaches pastors and leaders nationwide to maximize their potential for growth.
Outside of pouring his passion into ministry, Mark likes to ski, drive, boat, eat at great restaurants, and explore new places with his family. Also, he once climbed a mountain. (If you get a chance, ask him about that – he’s always happy to describe it.)
What should I expect?
From the moment you step into one of our locations, we hope you feel at home! We’re real church for real people — which means we want you to come as you are and be who you are. Regardless of what the world tells you that you are, you are welcome here.
On your first visit, look for our New Here table. We have Journeyers who are ready to help you navigate the building, answer your questions, and just be a friendly face in a new place! Once the gathering starts, you’ll hear some worship and a life-giving message. Our gatherings will last about 60 minutes.

Your Kids
Your kids will love Journey Kids! Journey Kids is for children 6 weeks through 5th grade. We offer lots of fun and creative ways for kids to know God, love God, and live like he says. Journey Kids is offered at all locations during each gathering. It opens 15 minutes before the gathering begins – just enough time for you to check your kids in, grab a coffee, and find a seat.
Impact The
Next Generation
Journey Students provides an environment for your students 6th – 12th grade to find Jesus and follow him fully. From small groups to serving together, Journey Students is here to help your middle and high schoolers learn more of who they are and who God has created them to be.
