At The Journey, we have a big mission:

To reach 1.8 million people within the region we call “Journey City,” a 30-mile radius around our broadcast location.

Our staff are on the front lines of equipping, empowering, and impacting people to reach our region. We’re committed to following Jesus, which doesn’t mean we’re perfect, but we’re always making progress. We’re not here to make a name for ourselves but instead to make the name of Jesus known, which is why we exhibit “that’s on me” ownership, continually showing initiative, taking responsibility, and sharing the credit.

We’re unabashedly honest, willing to “say the last 10%” to God, to ourselves, and to the people around us, always full of grace and truth. We don’t use people to do ministry; we use ministry to develop people, which is why we’re relentlessly committed to empowerment, believing deeply that the answer to “what” is always “who.” We work hard. We laugh harder. We love one another. If you’re ready to be part of a team who are here to further the mission of Jesus, check out our open roles.

Why we love working here:

We know choosing where to work is a big decision and we want you to make it with your eyes open. Here’s what our team has to say about life at The Journey, in their own words.

DARYL SMITH,
Gather Pastor

One of the things I love most about working at The Journey is that we genuinely care about people, both inside and outside the organization.

There’s a strong culture of ownership, growth, creativity, and teamwork here that constantly challenges me to become a better leader and person. I’m grateful to be part of a church that is willing to innovate, take risks, and do whatever it takes to help people find Jesus and follow Him fully.

BETHZY CASTILLO,
Newark Students Director

One of my favorite things about working at The Journey is being part of a team that is deeply passionate about the mission and genuinely invested in one another.

We sharpen each other, challenge each other to grow, and create a culture where people feel seen, valued, and cared for. I trust my coworkers, I trust my leaders, and I know they want the best for me. Our staff truly lives out our core values.

YARE SANCHEZ,
Creatives Director

I love working here because no two days ever feel the same, and I genuinely feel (and know) that the work we get to do matters.

I get to be creative, build things alongside people I care about, and help create environments where people feel seen, connected, and encouraged in their faith. It’s also stretched me a ton personally and professionally, and I’ve grown so much in the way I lead, communicate, and work with people.

STEVE MILLER,
Code Red Pastor

I love serving at The Journey because it gives me the opportunity to live out the calling God has placed on my life every day.

I get to do ministry alongside incredible friends and leaders while walking through life’s joys and challenges together. Most of all, I love being part of a church family where Journeyers and leaders are passionately pursuing more of God and helping others find Jesus and follow Him fully.

ANDREA BEEMLER,
Newark Kids Pastor

Working at The Journey Church for over 10 years has been one of the greatest gifts of my life. I’ve had the privilege of serving under leadership marked by integrity, care, accountability, and intentional development.

The Journey has not only helped me discover and grow in my calling as a pastor, but also shaped me into a better wife, mom, friend, and leader while giving me a second family.
