Message Guide – The One, Week 1 | How to Find the Perfect Woman
In this series, we will take a deeper look at relationships and what it means to have God at the center of who we are and who we love. As we saw this week’s message, that relationship can even help us answer the question: How do I find the perfect woman?
Key Takeaway
Stop looking for perfect.
When it comes to relationships, what the modern world calls normal can actually leave us frustrated and heartbroken. Fortunately, the book of Proverbs is full of Biblical wisdom that can help us not only live a life that is honoring to God but can guide us in making healthy relationship decisions.
Whether we are a man seeking “the one”, or a woman trying to live up to a perfect ideal, the wise words of Proverbs 31 are a helpful filter to show us what we should actually be looking for.
A Godly Woman: Trustworthy – stewards – partners – generous – compassionate – grounded – non-anxious presence wise – kind – attentive – driven – knows God
The trait that surpasses the rest is that she knows God.
No matter who we are, our relationship with God is what will develop and grow all the other positive traits in us. Instead of trying to find perfection, or be perfect ourselves, we should change our filter and remember that a perfect woman does not exist – but a perfect God does.
When we make him the center of our lives and our relationships, and find someone else who does the same, everything else will follow.
Pray
Prayer is our time to talk to God. Let this prayer inspire your conversations with God this week.
Father,
I love you. I welcome your presence into my life.
You pursue me with your love and grace even though I am far from perfect and don’t deserve it. I am so grateful. Your love teaches me how to love others and is developing me into someone who is more surrendered to you each day.
Lord, forgive me for when I have followed the world’s advice instead of your wisdom. Thank you for inviting me to center my life and relationships on you. I choose to let your wisdom guide me in how I live and who I love. Please show me where you would have me grow to live more like your son Jesus.
God, lead me toward others who will keep me grounded in your love, and give me the boldness to reflect that love to others who don’t know you yet. Help me to bring your wisdom and compassion into all my relationships. In Jesus’ name, amen.
